On behalf of the Washington State Medical Association, Pierce County Project Access has been selected to receive the WSMA’s Community Advocate Award for 2019.This is the first year for this award, and it was established to recognize community contributors who provide extraordinary support to, and advocacy for, the house of medicine. The award honors community advocates (including non-medical advocates) who strive to improve the profession of medicine, and the health and well being of patients, advance the practice of medicine and strengthen their communities. & nbsp Dr. Bill Hirota submitted PCPA as a nominee for this award. Of all the nominees received for this award, the WSMA Executive Committee found our accomplishments to be the most far-reaching and deserving of recognition as a true community advocate. The award will be presented at the 2019 WSMA Annual Meeting at on October 12th
